When you think of writing your personal life stories, think of it in a simplified way or recording your life for others. Here it is in a "nutshell"...

01
Make a list of stories you want to write about and choose the one that you think would be the most fun to write.
02
Write that one story. Stay focused on that story. Include your feelings, why you want to write that story, and any lessons learned. Write it like you would tell it to a good friend.
03
Give your story a title. Wait until your story is written to lock in on a title because you might come up with a better one while you are writing the story. If you still can't come up with one, read your story again looking for the right title.
04
If you have photos that support your story and make it more fun for the reader, include those. You can also include other supporting documents such as certificates, recipes, notes or letters, receipts, etc.
05
Save your story in a place where you can go back to it easily. I type my stories in Word and put them all in one "File folder" on my computer. They are labelled with the story's title. Eventually I will go back and cut/past the stories into one document so I can print the pages out into a book of the stories from my life.
Then go back to #01 and start with another story.
Breaking up your life stories into individual stories makes it an easy project because you are only focusing on a small portion of your life at a time. Try it - you might like it!
