Hopefully, you are thinking seriously about writing your personal history. If you haven't had a chance to download the Personal History Starter Kit that I put together, here it is again. It should help you get going. Your Personal History Starter Kit.pdf

There are so many benefits to writing the stories from your life.

I have a few listed below:

  1. Leaving a legacy of your life for your family members. You might not think your family would be interested in your stories, but I promise you, the older they get the more they will appreciate them. And when you are gone, your stories will be a TREASURE!

  2. You will get insights into your life that will lead to self-understanding. Writing your stories can be so good for your soul as you take time to go back in time and live in those moments. This is your opportunity to embrace your life and know that your experiences are part of who you are today.

  3. Stimulate your brain as you recall the stories from your past. You will be surprised at much you can actually remember when are exposed to different prompts.

  4. Getting your own truths written down. There are often many versions of the "true story". Don't let someone else tell your version. It deserves to be told.

  5. Reconcile past hurts and resentments. Life is full of ups and downs. As you write your stories, you will be able to look back and wonder if some of those really matter anymore. Time can magically heal the past as we look at memories from a bigger picture.

My wish for you is to just get started, and you will find that the more you write, the easier it becomes. Memories will began to flow, and your words will become comfortable to express. And, as listed above, you will benefit from it in more ways than one.

Happy Memory Making!
