Keeping It Positive

Life has it's ups and downs BUT that just it - it's not all UP and it's not all DOWN. It's a whole mixture of everything!
Pay attention to the DOWNS and you will feel sad.
Pay attention to the UPs and you will feel better.
Our thoughts have everything to do with how we feel and when we control our thoughts we can control how we feel. So....
Let's think back to the "good times" from our past and write down the memories that might make good stories - ones that tell something about you and what you were like. Your stories should help others see YOU!
Here are some ideas to get you thinking...
Times in your life when you were laughing so hard your stomach hurt (pranks, goofy things...)
Great things that you have accomplished (climbed a mountain, won an award, learned a new skill...)
People who meant the most to you or made a positive difference to you, and why (family, friend, stranger...)
Favorite items from you past (bike, toy, tree, food...)
Choose one of these four positive topics (or come up with your own) and use this BRAIN BUZZ FORM to "dump out" all of your ideas. Write down every idea that you have (you can sort through them later). As you write ALL of your ideas, even the ones you might think aren't worth writing down, you will find that those ideas might help you to think of other ideas that are more worthy to write down. In other words, a BRAIN BUZZ FORM includes EVERY idea so keep thinking and writing. You might even need to print the form out multiple times to make room for all of your ideas.
