There is a story about 5 frogs who were sitting on a lily pad. One felt like the pad was a bit too crowded so he decided to jump off.
How many frogs are left on the lily pad now?
The answer is FIVE! --> All five frogs are still on the lily pad because the frog only decided to jump off - he did NOT take action.

If you have decided to write your personal history...its time to JUMP....get out a pen/paper or open your computer/phone/ipad - whatever you want to use, and begin. Write ONE story that seems really fun to write about - a story that you want your family to know about.
To make it easier, follow these steps:
Write the story
Begin with why you wrote it or what the story means to you
Give the details that make it interesting, funny, or informative
End with your feelings about the story or a lesson you learned
Go back and read the story and make changes/corrections
Give your story a title
Set aside
Write another story....
Tips & Tricks
Don't worry about the order of your stories
Write the stories that you are the most excited to tell
Your stories should be able to stand on their own
Keep your stories as short as you can - keep them interesting and not lengthy
Write the story in your own words --> people want to know you and your personality

I was studying one day and was asked, what would you like the next generation after you are gone to know about you. Maybe a physical feature handed down thru generations. Were you a happy person? Were you good at playing sports? What are five very specific lessons you had to learn the hard way? What struggles made you a better person because of them? What gave your life meaning? What are things you enjoyed doing? Be honest so they get a good representation of who and what type of person you were. Enjoy!
