Are You Ready to Write a Story?

Have you ever wondered if your life has made a difference to other people? That is a question that came up for me a couple of years ago after my kids were grown and living on their own and I had extra time to think about my past. The empty-nest stage was difficult for me to get used to, but writing the stories from my past helped me to realize that, not only has my life been good overall, I have also realized that through the difficult experiences I have become stronger, and they have made me a better person.

I’m sure this is true for you as well, and I hope you will come to see that writing down your stories will help you see your growth, why things happened the way they did, the experiences that made you a better person, the lessons you have learned, and the good life that YOU have lived.

After helping several people write their personal stories, I have come to know that there is power gained from the process. You will look back on your life and view it in a new perspective, and you will gain new insights as you begin to understand the events in your life. You can use your past to move you forward!

I encourage you to write just one story this week. Chose a story that you are most excited to write about and jot down your memories of it. Include in your story, your feelings about it, why you chose to write that story, or what lessons you learned.
