Are You a List Maker?

This is one of my “best things”. I don't have a great memory so writing everything down helps me remember and stay on track. I also love to organize my lists (depending on the topic of the list) by importance, location, easiest to hardest, etc.
I also love making lists because I love checking things off my list. It’s like a big pat-on-the-back every time I complete something on my list. I feel like I've accomplished something great over and over again as I make those checkmarks!
Is this you too? I sure hope I'm not alone in this...Sometimes I will even add things to my list that I have already done just so I can make that checkmark because it is so fun and feels so good.

So you ask, what does this have to do with PERSONAL HISTORIES? Well...
Breaking up your life’s stories into smaller more manageable stories is so powerful! I encourage you to make a list of the stories you want to write about and check them off once they are written. It not only helps you remember your story ideas, and keeps you on track, but the physical gesture of making that checkmark can be so satisfying and might even keep you motivated to keep going...so you can make another checkmark. It's crazy how something so simple can be so powerful!
I have created a sheet for you to download and print out, so when you brainstorm about your stories, you can write them on this list. That way, you too, can have the satisfaction of crossing off a story once it’s written.
